Welcome!
My name is Emily and I am a licensed massage therapist (#032749) based in Brooklyn, New York. I graduated from Swedish Institute here in NYC. massage is like medicine for the mind and body. I am passionate about working with individuals to feel their best both inside and out.
Thank you so much for being here, I can’t wait to work with you!
My work can be described as deep & thorough, focused, compassionate, and intuitive. I approach each session with your goals in mind, combining different modalities to create an effective, renewing, and relaxing massage experience.
I have a background in biology and interdisciplinary science. Prior to my work as a massage therapist, I worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as manager of the Molecular Microbiology Facility, a research lab which facilitates the study of the microbiome and how it impacts cancer treatment and recovery, infectious disease, and many aspects of health from childbirth throughout different stages of life and disease. Check out my publications here.
I have extensive knowledge of anatomy, neurology, and pathology and I am interested in the ways massage can be beneficial and transformative for overall health. Massage is a powerful tool in pain and stress management, pre and postnatal wellness, injury and illness recovery, as well as coping with and supporting grief, anxiety, and depression. I believe being in touch with and knowledgeable about your own body is incredibly powerful. Every body is unique, beautiful, and deserves to feel good.
I live and work in Brooklyn, New York. I love my family (my husband Ryan and shih tzu named Sherbert), taking care of my many houseplants, making music and short films, and watercolor painting. I love to move my body in many forms including yoga, pilates, weight training, biking, and swimming.
